A mate and I are off on a 30-day, 5990 mile road trip from Texas to the Canadian border. Feel free to follow our travels from Houston to Detroit.

Day 21 - Iowa
I couldn't resist taking a couple of photos during the conference lunch break. There just happens to be a car museum directly across the road from the conference venue. Dick's Garage down in San Marcos, Texas still takes the cake in terms of wow-factor and car condition but this place is worth the visit to see a number of old un-restored vehicles and other interesting goodies. So for the record, here's a quick run-down...
Car photos only - apologies to Chris, but fill yer boots, John...
Here's a 1954 Hudson Hornet - he's featured in the Cars movie :)
This is the Hudson's engine room.
This old girl's seen better days. It's a Ford Roadster.
Here's a 1938 V12 Model K Lincoln on an old hoist, ready for an oil change.
Quite a nice old garage mock-up, complete with gas pumps and a 1922 Reo Speedwagon Express delivery van.
I can't get enough of these Duesenbergs. This one's a 1931 J229 long wheel base convertible sedan.
And here's a 1923 Detroit Electric. Its 14 batteries would carry its passengers 50 miles on a single charge.
Here's a rare one, a 1939 Hanamog. Hitler asked his car manufacturers to come up with a cheap car design after he was unsuccessful in getting Henry Ford to locate a car factory in Germany in the late 30s. Apparently there are less than half a dozen surviving examples.
Finally, here are a couple of neat light-weight 1910 Brush runabouts.
Anyways - back to Nige for the details of what he did today...
